ALEDO BAND PROGRAM
The Aledo band program was established in 1974 by the Aledo Band Boosters. The Aledo High School Band currently consists of 200 plus members which make up the marching band and three concert bands selected through auditions. Students may participate in additional fine arts that include Jazz Band, Choir, Music Technology, Music Theory, Applied Music, Drama, Art, and Colorguard/Winterguard. Every student participates in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest and most compete in the region, area, and state level band auditions through the Texas Music Educators Association. The band has had a total of 79 Texas All State Band members.
BEARCAT REGIMENT MARCHING BANDThe Aledo High School Bearcat Regiment consists of winds, percussion and colorguard. Every member of the band program participates in the marching band production and spirit show. The Bearcat Regiment has advanced to the UIL State Marching Contest five times and has been a consistent Bands of America Class Champion over the last decade. Because of our successful football program, the Regiment has performed 334 half-time performances and 96 play-off games
since 1993. It is rare that they hang up their marching uniforms before December. |
CONCERT BANDSThe Aledo Concert Bands have consistently earned sweepstakes since 1993, including sub-non varsity, non-varsity, and varsity bands. Together they have earned over one hundred UIL Sweepstakes. The concert band students meet daily during the instructional school day as well as before and after school. Students participate in all individual TMEA/UIL activities throughout the school year to further develop the individual musician. Several ensemble members participate in the Fort Worth or Dallas Youth Orchestras and other musical activities. Aledo High School band feeder programs include McAnally Intermediate and Aledo Middle School. Homogeneous classes start at McAnally in the 6th grade. Following their beginning year, seventh and eighth-graders at Aledo Middle School are in ability-based band classes, where instructors emphasize the development of individual musicianship and strong ensemble skills.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
|
Absent Request FormPlease fill out the Absent Request Form if you are going to miss any required events.
Directors will determine whether the rehearsal absence is excused or not. If a student misses rehearsal for any reason (excused or unexcused), that student is expected to make up the time that he/she missed. Make-up time will be determined once rehearsal schedules have been finalized. If the student cannot come to the make up time, then he/she will need to talk to Mr. Paul immediately about an alternative time. This form will also benefit the directors and students so that performance rehearsals can be planned accordingly, prior to class and after school practices |
