WEAR IT WITH PRIDE
It should be considered the highest honor to be allowed to wear the uniforms of the Aledo Bands.
To ensure that the Bearcat Regiment is able to present a unified body on the competition field as well as maintain good stewardship of our uniform resources and monies, students are expected to adhere to the following dress code policy.

MARCHING UNIFORMS
Respect the Uniform
- Do not lie down while in your marching uniform. Once you are dressed for a performance, you are to remain standing unless otherwise directed by a band director.
- Be mindful of where you sit. Look to make sure there is not chalk, paint, etc... where you are about to sit.
- Hair for males and females must be off the collar for all performances. For males this means hair must be cut above the collar. For females this means hair shall be neatly contained within the marching hat.
- Hair must be a natural color.
- Guys-No Facial hair is allowed during performances. All males are to be clean- shaven.
- When performing, no jewelry of any kind is allowed. This includes earrings, bracelets, rings, various piercings, and watches..
- Sunglasses may be worn in the stands (only black, white, or orange in color). Sunglasses may not be worn marching in or during a performance.
- Black socks covering up to mid-calf shall be worn with the uniform at all times. Students who do not have black, appropriate socks for a performance will be given a pair by the uniform coordinator, and a fee will be charged to their CHARMS account.
- Black marching shoes shall be worn at every performance. Marching shoes must be maintained in good condition up to and including the use of black shoe polish. The uniform coordinator will have black polish if needed.
- Show shirts or Dri Fit shirts must be worn with bibbers unless otherwise notified by band directors. Wear Show Shirts on Game Days. Wear Dri Fit shirts for contests and other Regiment Performances.
- Gauntlets, gloves, marching shoes, and poncho will be kept in uniform dress bag. Hat will be stored in hat box.
- Each student will have two pairs of gloves covered by the initial band fees. Should students need a third pair, it will be charged to their CHARMS account.
- Each uniform piece will be labeled with identifying codes issued to that specific student. These codes are then entered into each students specific Charms account.
- Marching uniforms are to be kept in the upstairs uniform room in assigned cubby and not taken home. Students who are signed out to their parents to leave early must leave their uniform and hat box on their bus before leaving performance site.
- Students will make sure their uniform is turned into the uniform committee on assigned dates to be sent to the cleaner.
- Students will keep the sturdy uniform hanger issued to them with their uniform. Wire hangers are not to be substituted for the issued uniform hanger.
- Any problems such as rips, tears, drastic change in sizes, etc… are to be reported to the uniform coordinator immediately
- Homecoming mums/boutonnieres and garters may be worn on the uniform except at performances. However, do not pin to the uniform.
CONCERT UNIFORMS

- Students will conduct themselves in a manner conducive to concert etiquette and befitting of a member of the Aledo High School Band at all times while wearing their concert uniform.
- Guys must keep their hair off the collar and neat for all performances.
- Girls may wear their hair down, but bows are not allowed for concert performances. Headbands must be thin and black. Hair is to be a natural color.
- Thin, simple necklaces may be worn with concert dresses. Earrings must be small; no dangling earrings will be allowed.
- Males will wear black dress shoes or marching shoes with their tux.
- Ladies will wear black dress shoes, which do not show toes. Heels are not required, but sandals or casual shoes such as house shoes are not allowed.
- Each garment bag will be labeled with the codes identifying each piece of the uniform issued to that specific student.
- Students will make sure their uniform is turned into the uniform committee on assigned dates to be sent to the cleaner.
- Students will keep the study uniform hanger issued to them with their uniform. Wire hangers are not to be substituted for the issued uniform hanger
- Any problems such as rips, tears, drastic changes in sizes are to be reported to the uniform coordinator immediately.
- Students may not take concert uniforms home. If the student checks out early to leave an event with their parent, they must turn the uniform in to the uniform coordinator before they are released to leave. Remember to bring a change of clothes if you are checking out early.
COSTS OF UNIFORM PIECES FOR REIMBURSEMENT
The bandsman/guard member will reimburse the school for materials that are destroyed, abused unduly, or lost. The below pricing is based on bulk pricing. Prices may vary with individual reordering of certain items. Additionally, shipping fees will be applied.

Long black socks should be brought from home to wear with the marching / concert uniform. Mr. Paul keeps a very limited supply of socks for sale at $2.00 a pair, if you forget or do not have the appropriate socks. This $2.00 will need to be paid at the time of purchase. Remember, VERY LIMITED SUPPLY. It is best to remember socks from home. Do not assume these will always be available.
A list is kept of what a student borrows and what a student doesn’t return. Any costs that apply to the student will be added to their Charms account and show as a balance due. Please see the Student Account section of the handbook for more information regarding replacement charge bills.
